Lol, you sound like my hubby.
I normally play a mage class in whatever game we're playing, but as we're playing WoW a lot at the moment my hubby's wannabe Conan play-style means I had to take the role of healer (no Dunkoro or Mhenlo to pull our fat out of the fire sadly), so I opted for Paladin. But my main character always carries my handle Saraphim, I use that on pretty much every web based app / forum / photo site I use, so she's always first.
I do have a hunter, and enjoy playing ranged / beastmaster roles as well. So I tend to roll that class in any game I play as well.

In other games I have always played healer/roguish types valuing speed over muscle. Guild Wars is the first RPG to come along where I enjoy every class, even the tank. I never play tanks in other games, but I quite like them in Guild Wars.

In Diablo 2 my character of choice was a wammo style paladin.
When I started GW my first character was a wammo style monk, with the same name (Friar Khan).
My second character in GW was a MM necro, just because I had avoided the necro class in D2.
I tend to play casters now (with much love for my Paragon that I've been too busy to level up). When I took a short break from GW to play Last Chaos I played casters but also made an assassin type so I could experience invisibility since that's absent in GW.

Design your own custom team with skimpy cheerleaders that look like 15k Druids?

I used the same types of characters in in Diablo II as I do in GW.
I had two main chars in D2: A Javelin Amazon and a Necromancer. I miss the days of animated cows.
No surprise my main title char is a Paragon, along with having a Necromancer.

I've always gone for a rogue/ranger/assassin kind of character. My Morrowind char is a forester/rogue kind of person, my Oblivion character is a ranger. The last time I played Blades of Exile, my character was an assassin/warrior. My Guild Wars character is a Warrior, but Assassin wasn't out when I started GW.

I've always started characters such as Rangers/Rogues and other classes that are excessively versitile.

I always go for the mage-kinda class, especially classes such as elementalist, because of the idea of casting spells with fire, frost, lightning.. On oblivion I played as a mage. When I tried WoW (which I dont like much ) I was a Mage/Druid. Heck, on any game I start off as a spellcaster.

As someone suggested, I was looking for same character vs. same character type, however, we all play along a certain spectrum of possibilities. While some always play the same profession, they may play it a short, frumpy dwarf or a tall elegant elf.
I tend to make my character look very similar if possible and pick the same types of skill sets. For example, I like pets so I play rangers with a dedicated animal companion. In GW it's pretty strait forward, and I can replicate this in Morrowind/Oblivion with the right mod, as in Perfect World when playing a Werebeast. All my characters tend to be dark skinned females with red/blond hair and have a variation of names including Raven. When I can't have a pet I pick my second favorite "minion master"...replicated in Hellgate, for example.
When I play Age of Conan, guess what I'm probably going to do? Female, rogue class, bow preference, pet if possible and a name like Corvidia Blackfeather...with the character creator I'll make her short and dark as possible with light hair...there she is again!
Guild Wars 2...hmmm...can Sylvari have pets?

OT: Just curious where did you come up with your name? "Saraphim" I always wondered how people come up with the same odd/unique name to use on forums and games.
p.s You went from playing Guild Wars to WoW?
